Frenzy Shards in Monster Hunter Wilds are a high rank material you can get by hunting a specific type of monster that you'll find occasionally roaming the regions.

These shards, just like other materials in Monster Hunter Wilds, need to be collected if you want to craft yourself better high rank armor sets and weapons.

On that note, here's how to get Frenzy Shard in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to get Frenzy Shard in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, to get Frenzy Shards you need to slay Frenzied Monsters. These types of monsters will only unlock at high rank after you complete the 'Lurking Shadows' main story quest in Chapter 4. If you look for this material before this point you won't find it as the kinds of monsters you need to hunt won't exist yet.

Also, you need to make a quest for hunting Frenzied monsters to get Frenzy Shards as a reward. They can't be harvested from the monster's carcass, in our experience they come as a quest/hunt completion reward.

You can find Frenzied monsters in the wild by checking your region map and opening up the 'Environmental Overview' to give you a list of which monsters are currently roaming around the region. You need to slay any that are Frenzied, such as Frenzied Gypceros.

Frenzied monsters are just variants of other monsters you'll face, but they're infected with the Frenzy virus and if you get hit with the virus from them you'll need to use a Nulberry to cleanse yourself of it. When you recover from Frenzy you'll also have a brief affinity boost, which can be used to your advantage.

Besides the virus, the monsters are the same as their normal variants which means you can use your knowledge of their weak points and elemental weaknesses to beat them.

That's all for now! If you're looking for more Monster Hunter Wilds help, check out our pages showing you how to equip decorations, how to change armor colour, and how to hide your helmet.
