There are lots of new and returning monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds for you to hunt again and again, whether you prefer playing solo, or with friends.

While it can be fun to keep the hunts a surprise, it's also a huge advantage to know when and where a Large Monster will pop up, and what their weakness is. So to help you plan ahead, we've got a list of all monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds below.

We've separated the Large and Small monster types into two lists, detailed all the new monsters and returning monsters, and also quickly explained the upcoming monsters scheduled to be added to Monster Hunter Wilds in future updates.

Beware of potential spoilers below, if you want to keep some monster reveals a secret while still playing through the story!

Upcoming monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds

Mizutsune is the first new monster to be added after Monster Hunter Wild's launch, with Mizutsune a Leviathan-type Large Monster that has featured in previous Monster Hunter games.

Mizutsune is coming as part of Wilds' first free title update in the spring of 2025. Then, we're getting an additional monster as part of the game's free summer update - but we don't know what this monster will be just yet.

Mizutsune is also a returning Large Monster, but it's not coming to Monster Hunter Wilds until its first free title update in the spring of 2025.

How many monsters are in Monster Hunter Wilds?

There are currently 29 Large Monsters and 18 Small Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds, not counting variants like Tempered and Frenzied. When Mizutsune is added in the game's first free title update, there will then be a total of 30 Large Monsters.
