How to craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds are a type of weapon that you can create, but unlike the earlier weapons you've used, you can choose the components of these ones to tailor them to your needs and desires.
You will, however, need to put some work into Monster Hunter Wilds before you can use Artian Weapons as these are high rank items and the materials you need to create them are also only available after a certain point in high rank.

How to get Artian Weapon materials in Monster Hunter Wilds
You get Artian Weapon parts in Monster Hunter Wilds by defeating Tempered Monsters, which unlock after you complete the 'Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns' quest in Chapter 4. This is also when Artian Weapons themselves unlock, which is handy.
Slay the Tempered monster, harvest their carcass and then end the quest to be rewarded with your Artian materials. In our experience you need to hunt them as part of a quest to get Artian materials.
Tempered monsters are more aggressive and slightly more difficult than their normal variants, but their weaknesses and attacks are almost always the same, so if you've already fought a 'typical' variant of a monster then you should know a few tricks for beating their Tempered version.
The easiest way to see if there's a Tempered monster in a region is to open up your region map and then select the 'Environment Overview' option. This will bring up a list on the right side of your screen showing you which monsters are currently in the area or are due to arrive soon - and any Tempered monster will be listed here too. For example, if you see 'Tempered Nerscylla' then this is your target for getting materials.
How to craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds unlock after you complete the 'Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns' quest during Chapter 4. If you search for the monsters that drop the materials, or try to make an Artian Weapon before this point, it just won't happen.
Now, to craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds you need to speak to Gemma at the Smithy and select the 'Forge Artian Weapons' option.
This will bring you out into the Artian Weapon forge menu. In the middle of the screen you'll be shown all of the Artian materials you currently have in your inventory, their rarity, element type and Artian bonus.
Artian weapons can be made by obtaining three Artian parts that are the same rarity, but the parts you need are different depending on what weapon you're trying to make. For example, for our Bow we needed two Tubes and a Device.
Each part of an Artian weapon has a different element type combined with an Artian Bonus. The element type that your crafted weapon ends up being will be decided by the most common element and the most dominant element between the parts you've chosen to use. For example, if you've got two parts where Fire is the strongest element and one part where it's Ice, then the forged weapon will be Fire-based as that's more dominant.
Also, if you choose three Artian parts that have the same elemental type then it will boost the overall elemental power of that weapon. However, be warned, if you choose parts that all have a different elemental type then the overall weapon crafted will not have any elemental properties at all - so this is worth considering when choosing which parts to use.
On the far right side of the screen will be the details of the Artian piece you've currently got highlighted - this is worth paying attention to when creating your weapon in order to craft something powerful that suits your needs.
On the left side of the screen is where you'll select the pieces you need add together to forge your Artian weapons. When you hover over one of these boxes, any materials that aren't compatible will be greyed out in the materials box in the center of your screen. Anything that can be used will continue to be full colour and brighter than the rest.
Also, beneath this you'll be able to see the cost of forging your currently designed weapon.
When you're happy with your selection, interact with the 'Forge' option and Gemma will make your Artian weapon.
How to reinforce Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Reinforcing is the version of upgrades for Artian Weapons. To reinforce Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds you need to speak to Gemma at the Smithy and select the 'Reinforce/Dismantle Artian Weapons' option here.
Then, you'll be brought into a screen where your currently owned Artian Weapons are listed on the left, their details when you highlight them will be displayed in the middle of the screen and their stats will be shown on the right.
Select the Artian Weapon you want to reinforce and you'll then be taken to another menu where you can select different materials you own to use to increase the 'Points' you'll use for reinforcing the weapon. The points requirement for your weapon will be shown in the middle of the screen, and you'll need to fill this bar by using the materials you own to reinforce your chosen weapon.
Each time you fill the bar, the weapon will be reinforced with better stats or new bonuses.
When you're happy with the amount you've filled this bar, select the 'Reinforce' option to apply it to your weapon.
