Changing armor colour in Monster Hunter Wilds is just one of the many things you can do to customise your Hunter to make sure they look their best while slaying dangerous monsters across each region.

Just like changing your Hunter's appearance, there are limitations to customising the colour of your armor in Monster Hunter Wilds, but we'll get into that below.

Without further ado, here's how to change armor colour in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to change armor colour in Monster Hunter Wilds

To change your armor colour in Monster Hunter Wilds you need to reach high rank and unlock layered armor. You'll unlock high rank armor by entering the high rank portion of the game after completing the first mission of Chapter 4 called 'New Ecosystems'.

However, if you've got pre-order bonuses or have made purchases then layered armor can be available to you earlier in-game - but for most people, you'll need to wait until high rank.

When you've unlocked layered armor, head into your tent at any Base Camp or Campsite and navigate along to the 'Appearance Tab' then select the 'Equipment Appearance' option here.

This will bring you to a menu where you see all pieces of your layered armor, underclothes and pendants.

Next to each individual armor piece are two boxes labelled 'Pigment one' and 'Pigment two'. Select these to bring up a colour wheel where you can choose the colour for the armor piece.

You can alter the hue, saturation, brightness, use custom colours, preset colours or adjust the colour wheel to get the perfect shade for your Hunter's armor. Just remember to use the prompted command for 'Confirm' to save your changes to that armor piece.

However, not all armor pieces can have their colour changed - if you get to this menu and the two pigment boxes are crossed out you will not be able to change its colour. This usually applies to low rank armor pieces.
