How to get Monster Hardbone in Monster Hunter Wilds
You get Monster Hardbone by killing the Large Monster Arkveld in Monster Hunter Wilds. Not to be confused with its Low Rank variant, Guardian Arkveld, the plainly named Arkveld is located all over the map in the Plains, Forest, Basin, Cliffs, and Wyveria regions.
We've found that the easiest way to find any monster in the game is to start an Optional Quest with Alma as part of her Quest Counter feature, then select the monster you want to hunt in order to head directly to a region it's located in. However, it's worth keeping in mind that Arkveld's Optional Quest is only available after you complete the 'Awakening from a Dream' Assignment Quest first.

Alternatively, you can select Arkveld (not Guardian Arkveld) from the 'Filter Icons' submenu of the map to quickly search for one while out exploring, if Arkveld is currently in the area.
As some general advice while hunting it, you want to use the Dragon element on Arkveld, as it is weak to Dragon. However, both of its Chainblades are resistant to all elements, even Dragon. This can cause a bit of a problem, as both of its Chainblades are some of Arkveld's weak points, along with its severable Tail and breakable Head.
We also recommend using Poison, Sleep, and Paralysis on Arkveld if you can, as it's most vulnerable to these status effects.
Remember, you're not guaranteed to get Monster Hardbone by killing Arkveld, as there's only a small chance it drops Monster Hardbone. And it's also worth keeping in mind that Monster Hardbone can only be obtained at High Rank, as you can only fight Arkveld in High Rank - you fight Guardian Arkveld in Low Rank instead.
