Monster Hunter Wilds The Eye of the Storm walkthrough
An Apex enters the scene!
The Eye of the Storm may seem like a short Monster Hunter Wilds mission, but it involves defeating an Apex Predator monster - the Rey Dau.
Thanks to this, we highly recommend (and will mention multiple times) that it's worth ensuring you're properly equipped in both the terms of weapons and armor in Monster Hunter Wilds before undertaking this mission. You may want to spend some time after Towards Fervent Fields doing some upgrades!
When you're ready, take a look at our The Eye of the Storm walkthrough for Monster Hunter Wilds down below.

Monster Hunter Wilds The Eye of the Storm walkthrough
The Eye of the Storm mission in Monster Hunter Wilds begins with your traveling to a location called Wind's Gasp. (Where I'm sure there will be no massive monsters trying to kill you. It will just be a relaxing mission…) Before you go, however, I highly recommend heading to Gemma to ensure you have the recommended equipment for this mission. There's quite a tough fight ahead of you, so it's definitely worth ensuring both your armor and weapons are properly prepared.
We recommend wearing armor that's resistant to thunder and bringing along an ice or water-based weapon. You'll also find Flash Pods and Pitfall Traps to be quite handy during this fight. Don't forget to cook a meal either and check out our best meal guide for recommendations.
Follow your Scoutflies across the dunes as a thunderstorm rages around and, honestly, I found this section quite beautiful. Things take a turn, however, as you run into the White Wraith doing its job - violence. Thankfully, you don't have to fight the White Wraith right now; I think we can all agree on being a little under prepared for that fight. Just when it looks like you've avoided trouble though, the Rey Dau will find you.
The Rey Dau is the Apex Predator for this region and it does want a fight, so you're going to be thrown into quite the hunt. If you want some assistance on slaying this dragon, visit our how to beat the Rey Dau guide.
Remember - if you're having trouble defeating Rey Dau, then it's worth taking the time to change your armor and weapon, along with upgrading them, as this could be what you need to win the fight. We've got some recommendations above and go into more detail in Rey Dau's dedicated guide.

When the Rey Dau is slayed, enjoy carving materials from its body before going through a series of cutscenes as the mission comes to a close. As always, you'll receive some items for completing The Eye of the Storm. You'll also get 20 Guild Points, the Pet Seikret gesture and a variation, a variation for the Tend to Seikret gesture, the pop-up camp limit for the Plains will increase, 10 new titles and the Roar of Brilliant Lightning background.

To continue with Monster Hunter Wilds main campaign, you now need to head back to Azuz and talk to Werner. Feel free to either travel there by Seikret or fast travel to the base camp in the Basin region. You can fast travel by opening the map, opening the 'Fast Travel List' and then selecting the location you wish to visit. Just keep in mind that the ability to fast travel is story-locked at certain points and you'll need to progress further in the main campaign to unlock it again.
Before continuing with the mission, we also recommend making preparations for your next monster fight. Ideally, you'll want to have a weapon which can deal Fire elemental attacks and Energy Drinks for the Sleep status effect. You'll also want to bring either Antidotes, Herbal Medicine or Herbal Powder in case you get poisoned! Finally, we recommend avoiding anything to do with the Water or Dragon elements as they will not serve you well against the next beast.
Once you're in the Basin, follow the quest marker until you find Werner and talk to him. Doing so will lead to another short cutscene and, afterwards, the next mission - Hopes of Home - will begin. Though, before you get properly started, we recommend you either have some Heatmantle Bugs or hot drinks in your inventory. If you're stuck on what to cook, we recommend using Veggies as your Ration, Sharp Kunafa Cheese as the Additional Ingredient and Monster Chili for the Finishing Touches. Check our best meal guide for more useful foods!

Best of luck in the next Monster Hunter Wilds mission!
