How to beat Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds
Lala Barina weak points, strategy and items.
Lala Barina is the first Large Monster you come across while playing through the Scarlet Forest area of Monster Hunter Wilds, and it's also one that you can hunt repeatedly after you've defeated it for the first time.
This monster is a hybrid of a giant spider mixed with flowers in Monster Hunter Wilds, and it can paralyze you with its stinger, and the red petals it launches into the air. Lala Barina is also pretty quick, thanks to its many legs, so it's a good idea to target its weakest spots while you have the opportunity.
Also, if you dislike spiders, we recommend turning on the Arachnophobia Settings in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Below, our Monster Hunter Wilds Lala Barina guide can help you beat the Lala Barina with tips, weak points, and attack info. We've also detailed Lala Barina locations, and harvest materials and items to help you completely plan for the hunt ahead.

Tips for defeating Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds
Here are some handy tips for defeating Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds:
- Lala Barina are vulnerable to Fire elemental attacks, and attacking its weak points (Tail, Petals, and Claws) is the most effective damage you can do.
- Lala Barina are also greatly affected by Stun status effects, which you can inflict with items on hand, or by using items found in the environment.
- Pitfall Traps, Shock Traps and Flash Pods are also effective on the Lala Barina.
- Avoid the petals - repeated brushes with the Lala Barina's red petals will paralyze you, so stay out of their path!
- Avoid the stinger - when Lala Barina starts to lunge with its stinger, make sure you stay out of the way of it, or you'll be paralyzed.
- If you do get paralyzed, quickly move the key/stick you use to walk in the game to recover faster.
- Use powerful attacks when Lala Barina's big red flower and stinger are exposed - these are two of Lala Barina's weakest areas, so take advantage of their exposure while you can.

Monster Hunter Wilds Lala Barina weak points
To beat Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds you should focus on attacking it's three weakest points and use Fire elemental attacks if you can.
The Lala Barina's three weak spots are: Tail, Petals, and Claws. Its Tail is a general weakpoint, its Petals are breakable, and each of its Claws are breakable (meaning you can break one, but not the other). Using attacks imbued with the Fire element on these spots is the best way to deal with Lala Barina quickly.

Its a good idea to focus on either the Lala Barina's Tail or its Claws first, then attack Lala Barina's Petals with your most powerful attacks when it's exposed. While attacking it from close behind is a bit risky thanks to Lala Barina's stinger (which it tends to deploy a little into the fight), we find it's worth the risk when its Petals and stinger are exposed, due to the increased damage you can inflict during this vulnerable state.
However, if you prefer to play it safe, then attacking Lala Barina head on, at range, or even in between its legs, are better strategies. That said, at the beginning of the fight, when Lala Barina's stinger isn't exposed, it is actually safer to attack Lala Barina from behind.
Monster Hunter Wilds Lala Barina attacks
The main Lala Barina attacks you want to avoid are its floating red petals and stinger lunge.
Touching too many of the red petals will paralyze you, as does getting hit with Lala Barina's stinger. The petals are easily avoidable during the start of the hunt, and Lala Barina doesn't expose its stinger right away. However, when you deal enough damage, Lala Barina will start to spread more and more red flowers as it zips about the place, and start to use its stinger lunge attack on you.
Its Petals and stinger are two of Lala Barina's weakest spots. So while you risk getting paralyzed by targeting them up close, doing so is also a great way to deal huge amounts of damage. Just be careful to dodge the red petals and stinger while you're up close!

When its stinger is exposed, you should also watch out for the spinning attack that Lala Barina can do. There's not much you can do to combat this, except to get away from its path when you see Lala Barina about to spin your way!
The other attacks the Lala Barina uses are pretty basic: a claw swipe, claw lunge, and leg lunge. Lala Barina tends to use these moves more at the start of the fight, so you're actually safer targeting Lala Barina from behind (or between its legs) in the beginning, then switching to its front once it starts to expose its stinger if you want to stay safe.

Monster Hunter Wilds Lala Barina locations
During your initial encounter with Lala Barina as part of the 'Forest Findings' main quest, you can simply follow your scoutflies to find their next location and look for the monster icon on your map.
Lala Barina are native to the Scarlet Forest. When you're in this region, you'll be notified by a small pop up on the right side of the screen when the Lala Barina is available, and you can also check the Environment Overview map to see if a Lala Barina is available to hunt. To make tracking it easier, set up a quest to hunt the Lala Barina in order to follow scoutflies to its location.
While Lala Barina can roam between areas 2 - 9 of the Scarlet Forest, we've found that it likes to stick to nest zones like area 4. Once you engage Lala Barina in a battle, it also tends to run between these same areas, returning to a nest zone, like area 4, if the fight goes on long enough.

Should you capture or kill Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds?
If you're looking to harvest specific materials for new armor pieces or weapons, then you should kill a Lala Barina. However, if you need one for other things, then you should try to catch it. In short, the answer is subjective depending on your current needs surrounding the monster.
