Where to find Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds are one of multiple types of Aquatic Creatures you can capture and make use of in your adventure.
As the name suggests, you'll need to learn to fish to be able to make use of (and obtain) this specific creature in Monster Hunter Wilds. Goldenfish are worth capturing because you can make use of their Golden Scales, and you'll need one to pass a specific side quest.
On that note, here's where to find Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Where to find Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds Goldenfish can be found in caves and areas with calm water away from direct sunlight in Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin and Iceshard Cliffs.
We also found that switching the season to the season of Plenty significantly increased the spawn rates of Goldenfish.
Goldenfish are also highly attracted to the Golden Bughead lure that you get from the 'Seeking the Goldenfish' side quest you can start by speaking to Kayna at the pool in the rear of Scarlet Forest Base Camp.
Our favourite place to get Goldenfish, and the easiest, is the Underground Cave in Area 8 of Scarlet Forest. We've marked its location on the map below:
In here you can set up a pop-up camp which is completely safe from monsters as the cave itself is hidden behind a waterfall.The fact it's hidden also means that it's extremely safe to fish in here for as long as you need to.
However, if you collect all the fish in this specific area and there are no Goldenfish then you'll need to fast travel back to a Base Camp (preferably one in another region), then wait a bit for the fish to respawn and try again.
You can also fish in other caves and areas out of sunlight in Iceshard Cliffs, Oilwell Basin or Windward Plains, but we've had the most success in this specific area of Scarlet Forest.
