Light Crystal in Monster Hunter Wilds is a material you can collect by looting a specific part of the environment across multiple regions - and you don't have to fight a single monster to get it.
Just like other materials in Monster Hunter Wilds, such as Fucium Ore, you'll need to look for a few areas of each region where you can harvest Light Crystal. However, like all materials, there's only a chance that each one you visit has this material, so it's worth taking the time to loot a few of them to give yourself the best chance at finding it.

How to get Light Crystal in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds you can get Light Crystal from Mining Outcrops in Windward Plains, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs and the Ruins of Wyveria regions. This gives you multiple chances to collect Light Crystals, meaning you can get yourself a nice little stash from bouncing from region to region.
To make your search a bit easier, you can use the filter on your regional map under the 'Gathering' tab to pinpoint the locations of different Mining Outcrops. You can then set a waypoint to them and your scoutflies will show you the easiest, and quickest, route to them.
Not every Mining Outcrop will have Light Crystal for you, so it's worth checking as many as you can if you're on the hunt for a specific amount of this material. Also, after a short while, Mining Outcrops respawn so by the time you've finished searching every region, you should be able to go back to the first one you've visited and try again.
Also, remember that Mining Outcrops give out multiple materials in one harvest so keep interacting with the Outcrop until you've emptied it completely - you might even get two Light Crystals in a row if you're lucky.
