How to get a Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds
Where to find Grand Escunite and how to catch one.
A Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds is a rare creature you can catch by fishing in a specific part of Scarlet Forest.
You'll be tasked with catching this for the 'Razzle Dazzle' side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds and you can pick this up from Kayna at the Forest Base Camp once you've completed its preceeding quests. Also, we highly recommend learning how to change the season and time, because the Grand Escunite is easier to find at specific times.
On that note, here's how to get a Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to get a Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds Grand Escunites can be found in Scarlet Forest, alongside their less regal relatives Escunites.
You need the Tentacle Jig to catch a Grand Escunite, and you get this from Kayna when you start the 'Razzle Dazzle' side quest.
To find a Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds head to the Underground Lake in Area 8 of Scarlet Forest during the Evening in the season of Plenty. We've marked its location on the map below:

We strongly advise setting up a pop-up camp in this area too, as it makes it easier to travel back and forth to the area, or change the seasons to your preference without having to go all the way back to Base Camp.
Grand Escunites are similar in shape to Nautili, a sea creature with a shell and tentacles, and they stand out against the other fish inhabiting the water in this area because, well, they don't look like a fish. From a distance, Grand Escunites look like triangles with a few tentacles sticking out of the side. They're larger and a brighter blue colour than normal Escunites.

Once you spot that one has spawned, which is highly likely in this area during the season of Plenty, start to tug on your line to draw its attention. Do this a couple of times until it latches onto the hook and then reel it in as soon as you've got it hooked, and that's all you really need to do!
