This 4K 144Hz Dough Spectrum monitor has hit a ridiculously low price from Amazon
Easily a new low for a quality display.
It's hard to believe how much prices have fallen on quality 4K/144Hz screens in recent years as we' ve seen the tech become a little more ubiquitous. That means it's now possible to get some seriously capable screens for bargain prices. For instance, this 27-inch Dough Spectrum that we've recommended for literal years by this point has come down to as low as £244 for the matte variant on Amazon, giving you a huge saving over its previous list price.
That modest price tag gives you a 4K screen with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate that'll play nicely with high-end PCs as much as it will with the PS5 and Xbox Series X with a 120Hz max refresh rate, so you can reap the benefits of sublime detail and excellent motion handling at a similar price tag to some of the higher-spec 1440p options. It's available with either a matte or glossy finish, although you will pay extra for the glossy option at £284 against the matte's £244.
Colour accuracy is sublime, with full coverage of both sRGB and DCI-P3 in our testing, making this a monitor that's equally suited to productivity and more colour-sensitive workloads. VRR support is equally well-served, coming with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support, and we found no issues with the Spectrum on both Nvidia and AMD hardware in our testing.
The port selection here is a real standout, as we noted in our review, with this panel supporting both HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 inputs as well as an immensely capable USB-C port that can provide up to 100W of charging, as well as 4K/60Hz output over a single cable so you can bung a compatible laptop in for convenient use. You do also have a USB-B port for older machines if you don't have USB-C that powers a three port USB hub. The only thing you don't get with the Spectrum is a stand, as it is panel-only, as much as the listing displays the stand in pictures. That'll cost you an extra £78, although you will be waiting some time for that to be delivered if you order it from Amazon, so you may wish to shop around.
If you're after a capable 4K/144Hz display to use with either console or PC that comes with some handy extras, this Dough Spectrum is a bargain.
