Chapter and mission list for Low Rank and High Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds is split into Low Rank and High Rank during the main story, with many of the game's 'proper' features locked behind reaching High Rank - including High Rank armor, and High Rank monsters.
High Rank missions also require you to reach a certain Hunter Rank to complete them, so you might find that the campaign slows down a bit once you reach High Rank in Chapter 4 of Monster Hunter Wilds.
So to help you plan ahead, we've listed all chapters and missions in Monster Hunter Wilds below.

How many chapters are there in Monster Hunter Wilds?
There are six chapters in Monster Hunter Wilds, with each chapter containing missions that mostly involve hunting Large Monsters. The first three chapters place you in Low Rank, then you unlock High Rank near the start of Chapter 4 (specifically, at the end of the 'New Ecosystems' mission).
Interestingly, this means that Monster Hunter Wilds technically has two 'endings' - one when you complete Low Rank, and one when you complete High Rank. Then, once you finish all six chapters, you're free to explore, and hunt, anywhere you like!

Chapter 1
Chapter 1 has five main missions:

Chapter 2 has four main missions:
Chapter 3
Chapter 3 has six main missions:
- The Faithful Keepers
- Nothing Frozen, Nothing Gained
- Through the Dusk
- Full Circle
- Broken Chains
- Monster Hunter
Chapter 4
From this point on, you need to reach the required Hunter Rank to continue the main story. We've detailed what this rank is beside each of the mission names below, but do keep in mind that the small quests in between these main missions might also require a Hunter Rank increase.
Chapter 4 has three main missions:
- New Ecosystems (Hunter Rank 8)
- Lurking Shadows (Hunter Rank 15)
- Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns (Hunter Rank 20)
Chapter 5
Chapter 5 has two main missions:
- Storm-cold Vortex (Hunter Rank 32)
- A World Turned Upside Down (Hunter Rank 34)
Chapter 6
Chapter 6 has only one main mission:
- What Lies Ahead (Hunter Rank 40)
